32 Flavors. (2018)

"32 Flavors" was a year long series completed in September 2018 inspired by a research project that I did in my sophomore year on the history of Black hair in the fashion industry spanning the past 100 years. As a result, of what I learned, I began to understand why I had a lot of internalized hatred towards my hair. I wanted to create imagery that I wish existed when I was younger. Maybe then I would have been more patient with my hair and had an earlier interest in learning about the beauty in protective styling.
